Ideally, start building your profile in Year 12 with work experience and wider reading. Intensive UCAT preparation typically begins in the summer before Year 13. However, it's never too early to start thinking about your pathway.

Most medical schools require A*AA - AAA, with Chemistry being essential and Biology/Physics highly recommended. Some top universities (Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial) typically expect A*A*A. Check specific entry requirements for your target universities.

It depends on your university choices. Most UK medical schools require UCAT. Check each university's admissions requirements to confirm what your shortlisted courses require.

Quality over quantity! Aim for meaningful experiences in healthcare settings (hospitals, GP surgeries, care homes). Most successful applicants have 2-4 weeks across different settings. What matters is your reflection and learning from the experience.
